Many laptops and computers comes in our day without recovery cd,

all the os and driver are in a hidden partition.

I will show you step by step how to unhide this partition.

You will need first to download and burn the totaly free ultimate boot cd.

This is working with acer aspire laptops and probabily with a large variety of computer with hidden partition.

First boot in bios menu by pressing f2 key on boot. In the bios disable the d2d recovery,

change the boot menu to boot from cdrom first, insert the ultimate boot cd in your cd drive save and exit.

The UBCD will boot now in the menu chose F3 « filesystem tools then chose [1] MBRTOOL,

chose your boot option(for me 2 is working well).

Enter in Mbr tool first take a pen and a paper.

In the menu chose -6 'Other option'

then -5 'edit partition table'

chose your disk number generaly disk 0(your disk number is in green at the upper right corner)

enter source type , type is original 'O'

Here we are, now take realy care there 2 blue line one for current value and one for new value.
In the column 'TYPE' the entry 1 should be 12, note the value on your paper,

well we will now edit this entry by typing 1.

Don't change the value in the column 'ACT' and in the column 'TYPE' put the value 0B.

Hit S key for saving, hit esc . Eject the UBCD and reboot.

After boot go to my computer you will see a new disk named PQSERVICE you've done it.

In this disk you can find your drivers and windows files. We will explain in another review how to make a real windows cd with these data.

Since that you have finish with using these data you just have to repeat the operation and change back the value.

... and now it will not go into recovery (Alt-F10) - Status 0xc000000d - The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible!
So - UBCD seems to have killed it and I can't use Partedit32 as I can't boot to a Win32 compliant OS.
Suggestions, please?

I have an Aspire 5315 that I need to restore to factory defaults. I have the master DVDs prepared after purchase but that restore errors out with a 0xd000000e part way through.
On starting the recovery, I am asked for a password. I am convinced that the password I am entering is correct, bur eRecovery thinks otherwise.
I am trying to use the above recommendation to find what it thinks the password to be, but although I change the type value from 27 to 0B, the result of booting is unchanged (BCD error 0xc000000f) and, when I look, the typez value in record 1 of the MBR of disk 0 is 27 again.

you have to go to the Unattended Windows site (unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/) and read for that

Hi

I am using ACER ASPIRE 3620.

And i have a hidden drive called \"PQSERVICE\". First i was able to use the feature to recover my windows by pressing ALT+F10, but now the keys dont work and icannot restore the windows.

By using the guide: http://ezinearticles.com/?Access-To-The-Hidden-Partition-Pqservice&id=414487

I was able to get the drive, but can you tell me how i can make a WINDOWS CD from it so i can install Windows back?

Thanks
