Three days ago I was playing with a just installed Vista service pack 1 RC1, wanted to make a bright finish I launch a check disk, but it was taking too much time, then after a long period I decide to interrupt(need to work a little), I then reset my computer at the new boot it try to start again the check disk, I cancel it by using the option and suddenly it restart itself and then began the troubles.
First boot :
Recovery console with the message Winload.exe is missing or corrupt
Second boot : trying the recovery with the DVD, 2 attemps fail.
Then I jump on my BartPE CD, launch it and I can access to my windows partition.
launching an another check disk(yes stupid) to verify my disc, and suddenly realisig that all this story start with check disk, I stopped it and reboot on bartpe and...
...HORROR my Vista part was, I can't believe it, was EMPTY...
ARGH...

Now its the turn of HP, I was thinking about buying a DV6400 to
replace my dirty Acer 5100, and with my experiment I have start to look
on different forum about the user opinions on this laptop the result
was that a lot of people have a High Pitched Noise problem with the new
HP Pavilions.
And for those who encounter this problem some time its unbearable,
type a search on this in goggle and you will that its not a little
problem, this problem occur also with the European model.
I suggest to not buy this model until HP, who is renewed for his build
quality and its good after sale service(and I can not tell that for a
lot of company), fix definitively this problem.

Yes effectively for a lot of people Acer is synonym of fever. Why ?
They have a disastrous after sale service(not everywhere but in many
place), and with this they have an heavy breakdown percentage, just
visit some specialised forum and you will meet desperate people like me
who have save money on buying but now are crying.
You can say youve got for what you pay, but at least you should have something for what you pay
See you soon
